CAIRO - 2 July 2017: Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said Egypt imports about 43,000 tons of diesel oil daily.

The minister made the remark during a meeting on Sunday with leaderships of the Holding Company For Maritime and Land Transport, Super Jet - Federal Arab Land Transport and the General Association For Goods Land Transportation.

The minister said the state offers 50 percent subsidy for diesel oil, standing at about EGP 36 billion annually.

He said the cost of one liter of diesel oil is 7,30 pounds and it is sold at 3,65 pounds in markets.

He underlined that prices of trains and Cairo Metro tickets will not increase.
