CAIRO - 28 February 2020: Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan will take part in the meetings of the 92nd session of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) board, set for Cairo on Saturday.

The meetings' agenda includes several issues, topped by a report on the Israeli settlements and their economic and social consequences on the Palestinian territories and the labor sector, Saafan said.

He added a file on the Arab group's preparations for participating in the coming 109th International Labor Conference, slated for Geneva in May and June, will be discussed.

The ILO's meeting is expected to discuss reports of the Chairperson of the Governing Body and of the Director-General, program and budget and other questions, as well as information and reports on the application of Conventions and Recommendations.

The meeting will also discuss inequalities and the world of work, a recurrent discussion on the strategic objective of social protection (social security), under the follow-up to the ILO Declaration on social Justice for a Fair Globalization, skills and lifelong learning and abrogation of eight international labor Conventions and withdrawal of nine international labor Conventions and 11 international labor recommendations.
