20 new projects approved by GAFI within 5 months

CAIRO - 16 January 2020: The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) announced that 20 new projects in the free zones system were approved as of the beginning of August until the end of 2019 with investments of $78 million.

These projects provided 890 job opportunities.

In a statement on Thursday, GAFI Executive Director Mohamed Abdel Wahab said that 173 million dollars were allocated for expansions in 20 projects, 229.5 million dollars for investment costs of 70 projects, in addition to increasing the number of job openings in 36 projects to 1,495.

The free zones come among the prominent investment systems that help attracting more local and foreign investments, he said.
