CAIRO - 18 December 2019: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ezziddin Abu Steit said Wednesday that Egypt possesses the capabilities that would help farmers benefit from digital technology as it has strong communication networks benefiting farmers in the communication domain.

The minister's statements came during his participation in the closing workshop of the digital agricultural guidance in Egypt organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

He stressed the importance of the use of digital technology in the aftermath of the scarcity of water and lands in addition to weather fluctuations, pointing out that a mega irrigation project will be declared shortly in cooperation with the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources.

The minister said that Egypt cooperated with FAO in achieving the strategic goals of the 2030 sustainable development .

H said the digital agricultural revolution would help the farmers to reduce the production costs and increase the productivity.
