PM orders new transport fares to be published nationwide

CAIRO - 17 June 2018: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has ordered new transport fares to be applied in nationwide.

The new fees, set by authorities in each governorate, will be advertised via different media outlets and at stations, upon the premier's directive.

Stickers showing the new fares will also be issued for micro-buses and hotlines will be set to receive any complaints about violations.

The new measures came as the cabinet central operation room is following up the situation after a recent hike in fares that was prompted by a decision to raise fuel prices.

The premier asserted that rules will be strictly applied on any violators.
