Finance Ministry works to reduce the budget deficit to 4%

CAIRO - 3 April 2018: Minister of Finance Amr el Garhy on Tuesday said that the second term in office of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will see a strong economic performance.

In statements to MENA, he added his ministry is working to reduce the budget deficit to 4 percent by 2022.

The government, he pointed out, is going ahead with its economic reform program.

The economic growth rate hit 5.2 percent with the start of the current fiscal year, he had said in previous statements.

Given the current positive economic situation in Egypt, several international finance institutions and corporations have raised Egypt credit rating.
