Transport minister describes cooperation with IOM as positive

CAIRO – 27 January 2018: Transport Minister Hisham Arafat praised Saturday cooperation with the International Maritime Organization (IOM) in the technical, technological, and training domains.

Arafat’s remarks came during his meeting with visiting IOM chief Kitack Lim at the Transport Ministry's headquarters, where they discussed plans for developing Egyptian ports in coordination with the Suez Canal Authority and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

Lim hailed development in the maritime transport in Egypt, and the great role of Suez Canal in serving world navigation and trade movement, saying that Egypt has started restoring its leading role among IOM.
