BEIJING - 6 Sep 2017: Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil reiterated on Wednesday Egypt's keenness on expanding economic cooperation with China, increasing exports to the Chinese market and luring more Chinese investments.

Addressing the third session of China-Arab States Expo 2017, Qabil underlined the importance of buttressing economic integration between China and the Arab countries.

China is keen to invest in Egypt as it is considered one of the biggest economic powers in Africa and the second largest African economy, he said.

Qabil called for globalizing Chinese companies and boosting China's foreign investments, saying there are vast opportunities for economic cooperation between Egypt and China.

He described the China-Arab States Expo 2017 as a strategic platform for Silk Road countries.

He said the exhibition plays an important role in promoting Arab-Chinese cooperation.

China-Arab States Expo 2017 kicked off in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, earlier in the day with the participation of Egypt as a guest of honor.

Qabil opened the event on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The expo is held under the rubric "Friendship, Cooperation and Development" and will run till Saturday.

Around 1,400 exhibitors representing Chinese institutions, 57 countries and three regional organizations are taking part in the exhibition.

China-Arab States Expo is designed to create high-end platforms, specialized exhibitions and one-on-one talks in the fields of agricultural, financial, energy, chemicals, new technology, cultural, educational and tourism cooperation.
