CAIRO – 18 August 2017: The Ministry of Industry revealed that 41 projects obtained final approvals to be established inside and outside industrial zones with total investments of LE 900 million ($50.6 million) in July.
As per the industrial development indicators' report, the approvals included six industrial sectors: food, engineering, chemicals, textiles, mining and metal. The projects are expected to offer 1,650 job opportunities. The industrial approvals were given in 17 governorates.
During July, 22 investors obtained approvals to expand their industrial institutions with total investments of LE 1 billion year-on-year, which will offer 1,505 jobs, the report added.
Minister of Industry Tarek Kabil said Thursday that the new law on issuing permits for industrial facilities as it will ease procedures has canceled the instant and preliminary approvals to facilitate the procedures and to end bureaucracy.
The law will significantly contribute to attracting more local and foreign investments in the fields of industry in the coming period, Kabil added.
