Shaker in talks with Orascom-Edra over power projects

CAIRO - 10 August 2017: Electricity Minister Mohamed Ibrahim Shaker discussed on Thursday with a delegation representing Orascom-Edra consortium boosting cooperation in the power and renewable energy domains.

In a statement by the Electricity Ministry, the delegation lauded the progress realized by the ministry in the power and renewable energy domains.

It also hailed the tremendous potentials Egypt enjoys that qualify it to be a regional energy hub.

They expressed desire to increase investments in the power domain within the coming period.

Shaker said the ministry is eager to remove any hurdle blocking cooperation with Edra Power company.

Edra is a Kuala Lumpur-based leading clean energy company that became operational in 2016. It is affiliated with China General Nuclear Power Group.
