TPA head, investors discuss promoting tourism in Sharm El Sheikh

CAIRO - 4 August 2017: Chairman of the Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) Hisham al Demery reviewed with a group of South Sinai investors a campaign to increase inbound tourism flows in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

The meeting, attended by Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed and South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda, took up a action plan drawn up by the J. Walter Thompson (JWT) advertising agency to promote tourism in Sharm El Sheikh city in the coming period.

The TPA board of directors agreed on allocating 10 million pounds to implement the promotion campaign.

The TPA also agreed with the JWT to start the promotion campaign in several European countries; Germany, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic, in addition to a number of Arab countries, Demery said.

The JWT will finalize the plan within the coming few days after considering the viewpoints of investors in order to launch the six-month campaign as soon as possible, he added.
