CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Mexico is keen on increasing its investments in Egypt, which already amount to $1.2 billion, Mexican Ambassador to Egypt José Octavio Tripp said, according to a Monday statement.

Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr held a meeting with the Mexican ambassador to deepen the relations of the two countries in several sectors.

Tripp expressed his country’s interest in widening its investments in Egypt, especially after the New Investment Law, which will contribute to providing job opportunities for youth and women.

The two parties agreed on establishing an Egyptian-Mexican business council to activate the cooperation between the two countries in high competitive sectors, including the real estate, specialized industries and social housing sectors.

Nasr noted that Egypt welcomes the Mexican investors and is working on resolving any challenges facing them in Egypt.
