CAIRO - 14 April 2026: PetroGulf, a subsidiary of the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company, has achieved a sharp increase in oil production from its Gulf of Suez operations, with daily output climbing to around 26.6 thousand barrels, up from roughly 17 thousand barrels per day earlier in fiscal year 2025/2026—the highest production level recorded since the company was founded in 1982.

The production jump was fueled by a rapid increase of nearly 10 thousand barrels per day over a five-month period, supported by an intensive development plan that included drilling a new production well, North Geysum North-16, which on its own contributed approximately 4 thousand barrels per day to overall output.

Moreover, an extensive maintenance and well-servicing program across the company’s Gulf of Suez assets added about 6,750 barrels per day to production capacity. The work was executed using two drilling rigs, highlighting improved operational efficiency and faster implementation of field development plans.

PetroGulf continues to represent a strong example of successful investment collaboration within Egypt’s petroleum sector, uniting the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company, in partnership with Pico and KUFPEC, to strengthen and expand crude oil production.
