CAIRO – 11 February 2025: Spanish firm World Health Management (WHM) has proposed establishing a medical data center in Egypt with an estimated investment of $1.8 billion to serve the Arab region.
The announcement was made during a visit by Hassan El-Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to Spain, where he explored investment opportunities in the healthcare sector.
WHM, a company specializing in product consulting, pharmaceutical research, and institutional relations, aims to develop strategic plans that enhance healthcare operations. The firm has expressed strong interest in Egypt’s healthcare sector, recognizing the country’s favorable investment climate in this critical field.
During discussions with WHM executives, Minister El-Khatib emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in advancing medical technology, highlighting Egypt’s commitment to digital transformation in healthcare. The company is considering positioning Egypt as a strategic hub for the Arab region by leveraging its market potential and collaborating with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to attract investors.
To move the project forward, a series of meetings between both parties will take place, focusing on the project's details and strategies to establish Egypt as a regional leader in AI-powered medical services.
