EGX lands in the green on Sunday amid Egyptian buying

Cairo – July 7, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked the week off in the green zone, closing with a market capitalization of LE 1.9232 trillion.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.84 percent to end the session at 28,602.14 points.

The Sharia index inched upwards by 0.23 percent to 2,775.25 points.

EGX 70 jumped by 1.13 percent to 6,293.21 points, followed by EGX 100 with a climb of 0.91 percent to settle at 9,140.49 points.

Sunday trading saw 1 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.79 billion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with a net value of LE 117.64 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with LE 6.32 million and LE 111.32 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by El Ahli Investment and Development which was up by 19.98 percent, Taqa Arabia by 14.88 percent, and Egypt Aluminum by 9.33 percent.

The largest losses of Sunday’s session were by Raya Contact Center which dropped by 5.41 percent, Misr Hotels by 4.62 percent, and Electro Cable Egypt by 3.16 percent.

The EGX will be off on Thursday, July 11 in celebration of the Islamic New Year.
