Egyptian merchandise exports record good performance in Q1, rising 5.3%

CAIRO - 17 April 2024: Despite the existing global challenges, most notably the continued rise in inflationary waves, Egyptian merchandise exports achieved good performance during the first quarter of the year compared to the same period last year.
 
 
Here are some highlights that et provides in this regard:
 
- Exports recorded 9 billion and 612 million dollars, an increase of 5.3 percent.
 
- Turkey is the largest importer from Egypt, with a value of $874 million.
 
- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the second largest country importing from Egypt, with a value of $792 million
 
- The United Arab Emirates receives the remaining $586 million in Egyptian products.
 
- Building materials are the largest export sector in Egypt, with a value of $1.958 billion.
 
- Food industry exports recorded one billion and 546 million dollars in the first quarter
 
- Exports of chemical products and fertilizers record one billion and 445 million dollars.
 
- Agricultural crops exports record one billion and 444 million dollars
 
- Exports of engineering and electronic goods worth one billion and 272 million dollars.
 
- Ready-made clothing exports record $673 million.
