Al-Sisi explores the ways of advancing multilateral cooperation and private sector support

CAIRO – December 31, 2023: President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, along with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, held a significant meeting aimed at strengthening multilateral and bilateral cooperation frameworks.

The primary focus of the meeting was to advance economic diplomacy and provide support to the private sector in Egypt.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Mashat provided details on the substantial assistance provided to the private sector over the past four years, totaling $10.3 billion in the form of soft loans, encompassing both financial and technical support.

The meeting also addressed the progress of the "Hafiz" platform, a comprehensive platform connecting development partners with the private sector, offering various services such as financial support, technical assistance, investments, concessional development financing, and capacity-building programs.

Al-Sisi reviewed the Ministry of International Cooperation's annual report, which highlighted significant aspects such as international partnerships, concessional development financing, and transparency in cooperation.

The meeting also involved discussions on the advancements of the NWFE program, with a positive joint statement issued by development partners acknowledging the government's sectoral policies and commitment to low-carbon development.

In his directives, Al-Sisi emphasized the continued development of international cooperation frameworks, with a specific emphasis on investing in human capital and ensuring equitable provision of services and social protection across the nation.
