Monday bourse trading closes with mixed performance

Cairo – November 6, 2023: Monday trading on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) reported mixed performance after main index EGX 30 was in the red amid foreign selling.

The benchmark index slowed into the red by 0.15 percent to end the session at 23,059.15 points.

EGX 70 was up by 0.67 percent to close at 4,545.89 points, while EGX 100 rose by 0.43 percent to 6,755.04 points.

Monday trading saw 1.285 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.912 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.557 trillion, up around LE 2 billion from Sunday’s LE 1.559 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net buyers with LE 249.51 billion and LE 8.76 billion, respectively. Foreign traders were net sellers with LE 268.271 billion.

The top gains of the session were by Osool ESB Securities Brokerage which climbed by 19.43 percent, Sinai Cement by 19.31 percent, and El Shams Housing & Urbanization by 18 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by El Arabia for Land Reclamation by 10.03 percent, Alexandria Mineral Oils Company by 8.3 percent, and Speed Medical by 7.92 percent.
