CAIRO – 27 February 2023: The Egyptian cabinet information and decision support center (IDSC) denied, Sunday, all the rumors regarding the reduction of the “Takaful and Karama” initiative payments due to the current global economic crisis.

The IDSC contacted the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which emphasized that payments for the “Takaful and Karama” initiative are handed out regularly, without any deductions through different payment outlets.

Furthermore, the ministry stated that currently, 5.2 million families (about 22 million citizens) benefit from the “Takaful and Karama” intiative.

Payments for 4.8 million families directly come from the state’s budget, while the remaining 600,000 families are supported by the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW).
