CAIRO - 31 May 2022: The main axis of the economic reform program is to increase the relative weight of the sectors of manufacturing, agriculture, communications and information technology, according to Minister of Planning Hala El-Said. 
 
The minister added during her participation in the Egypt Can with Industry Conference that the total contribution rates of the three productive sectors to the GDP in 2019/2020 amounted to 26 percent.
 
“The strategic objectives of the industrial sector are to increase the sector's contribution to the GDP to reach 15 percent in 2024,” El-Said added.
 
As for the Hayah Karima (Decent Life) initiative, the minister stated that it is considered the largest in development in the world. 
 
“Hayah Karima initiative will have a clear impact on the industrial sector,”  El-Said stated.
 
She clarified that the initiative will work to localize manufacturing at the governorate level, and thus localize sustainable development goals. 
 
El-Said added that these objectives will be sustained through the implementation of small and medium projects, the manufacture of infrastructure requirements, and the achievement of competitive advantages for the governorates in the initiative’s villages and governorates.
