Egyptian imports from the UK during the first six months declined to $615.9 million down from $736.5 million during the same period in 2020, according to a report by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued Sunday. This is a 16.4-percent drop, the report noted.

It put the value of trade exchange between the two countries at $1.2 billion compared with $1.1 billion  last year.

Remittances of Egyptian expats in the UK reached $489.2 million during the fiscal year 2019-2020, the report said, pointing to a 33.9-percent rise in 2018-2019, when remittances amounted to $365.4 million.
