CAIRO – 30 September 2021: Orascom Investment Holding announced Thursday that its subsidiary  Orascom Pyramids for projects signed a contract worth LE 170 million with Orascom Construction.

 

Orascom added, in a filing to the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX), that the contract is to raise the efficiency and modernize the existing facilities, equip them with the latest devices, decorations and modern furniture, and implement light facilities to serve visitors while preserving the archaeological and historical character of the area.

 

The company indicated that this is within the framework of cooperation between the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the operating and providing services to visitors company in the visit area of ​​the Giza Pyramids, which ensures the upgrading of all services and infrastructure to upgrade the services provided to visitors in line with international standards.

 

It explained that Orascom Pyramids Projects is working on a detailed plan in coordination with the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to develop the visitation area to include services for visitors, including operating car parks and tourist buses, providing and operating electric buses to transport visitors to the visiting areas within the pyramids plateau, the restaurant complex, umbrellas in open spaces, bathrooms and areas for recreational, cultural and sports activities in addition to the development and operation of a visitor building, electric bus stations and light facilities for serving food and beverages and selling gifts and souvenirs.
