Egypt's Awqaf minister: Arresting top Daesh leader Al-Ruwaidani in Libya uncovers 'emotional defeat' of terrorists

CAIRO, May 26 (MENA) - Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said that the arrest of top Daesh leader Muhammad Al-Ruwaidani in Libya unveils the "emotional defeat" of terrorists.

In a statement on Tuesday, the minister said that mercenaries have no religion, values, principles or morals, adding that the surrender of the terrorist leaders in such a despicable manner reflects the emotional defeat of terrorist groups.

There is no doubt that arresting Al-Ruwaidani uncovers a "dark chapter" of countries sponsoring terrorism, pressing for the need of a serious international action to hold accountable these countries, he said.

Earlier, Spokesperson for the Libyan National Army (LNA) Ahmed al-Mismari announced that the army units arrested Al-Ruwaidani in Tripoli, describing him as one of the most dangerous Daesh leaders from Syria.

Al-Ruwaidani, the emir of Faylaq al Sham, was moved to Libya by the Turkish intelligence service to join militias of Fayez al-Sarraj's government who are led by Turkish officers, Mismari said, adding that this represents a new evidence on relations between Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Daesh terrorist group and extremist groups in general.
