Following the success of his role in the latest romantic comedy Bolbol Hayran (Confused Bolbol) – also produced by his new production company Shadows — star comedian Ahmed Helmi is switching gears to focus on showing off his skills as the newest film producer in town.Rumor has it that Helmi wants to approach Karim Abdel-Aziz to star in a new film written by the famous scriptwriter Tamer Habib (Sahar El Layali [Staying up the Nights], 2003, and Hob El Banat [Girls’ Love], 2004); Shadow will produce the untitled film sometime this year. Abdel-Aziz, who has already indicated he wants to renew his contract with Al-Arabia Company this year, will have to make up his mind about Helmi’s offer right after the release of his new film Fasel Wa Naoud (A Break and Then We Will Return), recently released in movie theaters. This wouldn’t be the first time that Helmi and Abdel-Aziz have collaborated, although not for more than a decade. They appeared together in two previous movies: Abod Ala Al-Hodod (Abod on the Borderline, 1999) and Leh Khalitny Ahebak (Why Did You Make Me Fall in Love With You? 2000).
