Border guards abort infiltration attempt from Syria CC

Amman - 3 July 2017: The Northern Military Zone Sunday foiled an infiltration attempt by four persons into the Kingdom from Syria, a military source at the General Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said in statements carried by Petra Monday.

The source explained that the army personnel applied the rule of engagement taken in such cases, forcing the infiltrators to retreat to the Syrian front.

After searching the area, the army personnel seized some 549,000 Captagon pills, 122 palm- sized sheets of Hashish, and 8550 Tramdol tablets, the source said, adding that the seized items were referred to relevant authorities .

The Border Guards patrols also foiled another infiltration attempt by three people, who tried to cross the frontier from Syria, arrested the infiltrators and referred them to the competent authorities, the source added
