Palestinian President arrives in Cairo Sunday to meet with Egypt’s Sisi

CAIRO – 28 November 2020: Palestinian President and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Cairo on Sunday to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, announced Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League Diab Al-Louh in a statement on Saturday.

The visit comes in light of permanent and continuous consultation and cooperation on multiple issues between the two countries, Al- Louh added.

The meeting would tackle met the challenges facing the the Palestinian people’s efforts to obtain their inalienable rights, achieve the right to self-determination, and establish their independent state with full national sovereignty over all the Palestinian territories that were occupied in 1967 with a capital on East Jerusalem.

In Late August, President Sisi called Palestinian President in which they tackled the Palestinian reconciliation file, after some Arab countries reached agreements of normalization with Israel under the U.S brokerage.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said that President El- Sisi affirmed Egypt’s continued keenness to reach a comprehensive solution that guarantees the right of the Palestinians to establish their independent state.

President Abbas expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s efforts and its historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause.

 It has been reported by Palestinian media that Abbas would also visit Jordan.
