CAIRO – 29 October 2020: Egypt condemns in the strongest terms continuous “terrorist attacks” by the Houthi militia in Yemen, through launching booby-trapped drones toward Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministry said.

This comes a day after the Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthis in Yemen said it intercepted and destroyed six booby-trapped drones launched by Iran-backed Houthis against the Kingdom.

Later, on the same day, the coalition said it had intercepted three ballistic missiles targeting Jazan, Khamis Mushait and Najran cities in Saudi Arabia.

“Egypt reiterates its full support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the measure it takes to deal with all what threatens the security and stability of the Kingdom and the safety of its brotherly people,” the Egyptian ministry added in a statement.

“Egypt condemns the repetition of these despicable attacks by the Houthi militia, which were effectively addressed by the joint forces of the Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, through intercepting and destroying these drones,” the statement added.

Houthis in Yemen have launched hundreds of drones and missiles across the border toward Saudi Arabia, aimed at military, economic, and civilian targets including several attacks on Abha International Airport.
