Sisi urges ensuring health safety of students ahead of new school year

CAIRO – 2 September 2020: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday directed that all necessary measures be taken, in coordination between the Ministry of Health and the various bodies, to provide the highest possible levels of insurance for students and those in the educational system, to ensure their safety and the regularity of the academic process.

 

The new school year for schools and universities is set to start in October.

 

The President also directed to ensure the provision of all necessary medical needs and supplies to assist all workers in the health sector and assist them in carrying out their mission.

 

Sisi also directed to intensify awareness campaigns among citizens regarding dealing with the spread of the coronavirus, especially with regard to the precautionary measures and a plan to co-exist with the presence of coronavirus.

 

The meeting, which was attended by the prime minister, the health minister, the presidential advisor for health affairs, the chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Medical Supplies Procurement and other health officials, came in light of preparations taken to face a probable second coronavirus wave.

 

As Minister of Health Hala Zayed has reviewed efforts made recently in the health sector, especially regarding coronavirus, the president ordered continuing presidential health initiatives.

 

Nearly 7 types of Coronavirus genes out of 8 in the world exist in Egypt according to Advisor of Egyptian President for Health and Precautionary Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din.

 

He added in statements to MBC Misr Channel that the first wave of coronavirus did not end so we can talk about the second, adding that there is a kind of fluctuation in the numbers of infections, as a result of the Eid al-Adha and the summer holidays, in which the people were not fully commitment to the precaution measures.

 

Tag el-Din explained that COVID-19 has different eight genes in the world, but as a result of the research conducted at the Medical Research Center, we discovered that Egypt has seven out of them.

 

He also stressed on the necessity of wearing face masks especially in public transport, stressing that commitment helps to overcome the autumn and winter phase.
