CAIRO - 21 August 2020: A tripartite summit would be held next week among Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi in Amman, announced the Royal Hashemite Court in a statement on Friday.

The summit, which would be held for the third time, “will cover economic, trade, and investment cooperation among Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq, as well as regional developments,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the first trilateral summits were held in Cairo in March 2019, while the second one convened in New York in September of the same year, on the sidelines of the current United Nations General Assembly meetings.

During the second summit President Sisi, King Abdullah and Iraqi President Barham Salih asserted their full support for the Palestinian cause as a central cause in the Arab world, adding the Palestinian people must have all their legitimate rights that include an independent state and its capital is Jerusalem city in the light of the Arabian initiative and the international agreements.
