CAIRO - 20 July 2020:  In her meeting with Yemeni Minister of Health Nasser Ba’oom, Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed announced that Egypt will increase the free medical programs to the Yemeni people and provide all facilities for the Yemeni expatriates in the egyptian hospitals.

Both Ministers discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, besides transfering Egypt’s experiences of a number of presidential health initiatives to the Yemeni side, said Egyptian Health Ministry spokesperson Khaled Megahed in a statement on Monday.

“More than a million Yemeni citizens in Egypt have access to all medical services, vaccinations and for pregnant healthcare programs. They are treated like Egyptians in all hospitals of the Ministry of Health,” Zayed said.

The Egyptian Minister also directed the ministry officials to send Yemeni counterparts the treatment protocols for the new coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, Megahed said.

The meeting tackled possible ways of training Yemeni physicians in Egypt via increasing the health scholarships for Yemeni students in Egypt.

April 2018: Egypt on Thursday made preparations to dispatch urgent humanitarian aid supplies to the war-torn Yemen under the directives of President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Abdel Fatah El Sisi.
