CAIRO – 20 July 2020: Egypt recorded Sunday 603 new coronavirus cases, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 87775.

 

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 51 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 4302.

 

As many as 512 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 28380  so far, the spokesman said.

 

Head of the COVID-19 Treatment Committee Hossam Hosny attributed, Monday, the decline of daily infections below 1,000 to the protective measures and the weakening of the virus.

 

The Egyptian Drug Authority announced signing a deal with AstraZeneca to supply the country with the Oxford University's vaccine for COVID-19 without disclosing the number of doses or the delivery date.
