5.5 magnitude earthquake hits Cairo

CAIRO - 29 June 2020: The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics reported earlier on Sunday an earthquake estimated at 5.5 magnitude in Giza and Cairo.


The stations of the Egyptian National Seismic Network (ENSN) located the earthquake, which was felt in Cairo, 218 km southeast of Turkey's Izmir, NRIAG President Gad Al-Qadi said in a statement.



He added that the tremor data is being analyzed, noting that no casualties or damages have been reported so far.
