CAIRO, May 10 (MENA) - Croatian Ambassador to Egypt Tomislav Bošnjak Sunday hailed efforts of the Egyptian government to counter COVID-19 as well as the country's commitment to adopting the precautionary measures.

The ambassador, in statements to MENA, praised the support of the Egyptian people to the state's anti-coronavirus efforts along with their abidance by the social distancing instructions which contribute to halting the spread of the virus.

The European Union (EU) and member states are urging the international institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to offer aid to the depleted African countries to help them in dealing with the repercussion of the COVID-19, said Bošnjak, whose country chairs the EU Council.
