CAIRO – 18 March 2020: Minister of State for Information Osama Heikal denied on Wednesday reports on imposing full quarantine restrictions on any governorate in Egypt.

His statements came in response to news reports claiming quarantine restrictions imposed on Sharm el-Sheikh city as of Wednesday, and for 14 days.

Heikal said that tourists will depart Egypt as per the schedules of their travel programs, and all those who contacted them, including workers at hotels, bazaars will remain in the city for 14 days until the last tourist leaves.

He further stressed that accurate information will be announced by the government, calling on everyone not to listen to rumors circulating on social media platforms.
