CAIRO, March 1 (MENA) - Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy highlighted the role of "Tahiya Misr Fund" in supporting citizens in the various Egyptian governorates in cooperation with the civil society organizations.

The minister's remarks came during his participation in a ceremony organized by the fund to inaugurate a number of development projects in Sohag governorate as part of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's initiative for the most needy villages, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Local Development on Sunday.

During the ceremony, a number of schools in Sheikh Zein village and a veterinary unit were inaugurated along with distribution 30 bikes to top students in the governorate. Prosthetic limbs were delivered to persons with special needs in addition to distribution of new clothes and meat to the most needy families.

Presidential Adviser and Secretary General of Tahiya Misr Fund General Mohamed Amin Nasr, Member of the Executive Committee of the Fund Ali Gomaa, a number of artists and chiefs of Egyptian banks attended the ceremony.
