CAIRO, Feb 23 (MENA) - Minister of Military Production Mohamed Saeed el Assar discussed on Sunday with Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Public Enterprises Hisham Tawfiq, representatives of the foreign and agriculture ministries and the General Investment Authority as well as the Armed Forces National Service on means of cooperation with Gabon.

The meeting tackled means of boosting economic and trade relations with Gabon, the available investment and trade opportunities in the African countries especially in the fields of wood industry, electricity, mining, agriculture, infrastructure and road construction.

The meeting aims at affirming the state's keenness on beefing up relations with all African countries with the purpose of achieving common interests.

Shaker, on his part, said the meeting comes as part of the presidential directives pertaining to cooperation with African countries and opening to the African market. He asserted Egypt's keenness to work on developing the electricity infrastructure and transport network for the sake of achieving regional integration and help in the growth of Africa's economies.

Meanwhile, Tawfiq briefed the conferees on the outcome of his recent visit to Gabon and efforts exerted to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting wrapped up with a decision to form two working groups, the first to be under the chairmanship of the public enterprises minister and the second under the chairmanship of electricity minister to ensure the implementation of presidential directives pertaining to cooperation domains with Gabon.
