Alex court sentences 27 defendants to various jail terms for terror charges

ALEXANDRIA - 9 January 2020: Alexandria Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced 27 defendants with various jail terms over charges of joining the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group, inciting violence and possession of arms.

Among the defendants, five were given 10 years in jail, 19 defendants sentenced to life in jail and three others were given 10 years jail term.

The defendants are indicted of joining a terrorist group, possessing arms and distributing leaflets inciting violence against the state as well as carrying out sabotage acts against public and private facilities.
