CAIRO – 21 December 2019: Boosted security measures have been laid across security directorates all over Egypt to secure celebrations for Christmas and New Year.

The directives come within a series of measures and a strategy by the Interior Ministry to take the necessary steps and preparations ahead of Christmas Eve.

These measures include intensifying the security presence, deploying checkpoints, setting observation posts, preparing security forces and ensuring the ability of rapid security deployment.

Security detectives and secret agents were also deployed, as well as the female police services to take part in inspection and insurance operations. Security and guard dogs will also be deployed to inspect and sweep worshiping places, facilities and buildings.

The Ministry of the Interior in a statement has stressed the continuation of its strenuous efforts to provide a safe environment for citizens to enjoy the New Year celebrations.

The ministry further called upon all people to abide by security instructions and cooperate with police officers to implement the security plans strictly and carefully.
