CAIRO – 14 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi met Anba Damian, the General Bishop of Copts in Germany, at his residence in Berlin, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef in a Tuesday statement.

During the meeting, the president affirmed that Egypt will always be the homeland to all its citizens without discrimination, according to the statement.

Sisi pointed out that Egypt is facing terrorism “with strength,” stressed that Egyptians are “fully aware” of the importance of uniting themselves inside and outside the country in the face of these criminal acts that are not accepted by religion or humanity.

The spokesperson added that Anba Damian expressed his pleasure to meet the president, praising his role in restoring stability and security in Egypt during the last years.

President Sisi participated on Monday in a roundtable discussion held by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin and attended by the presidents of African states, the head of the African Union Commission, the African Bank president and CEOs of German companies.
