CAIRO – 10 September 2019: Qatari Al Jazeera channel continues to broadcast and spread rumors and fake news, especially regarding Egypt.

Media experts and observers of the political scene agree that Al Jazeera has lost its honesty and integrity, seeking to destabilize the region and sow discord in Arab countries.

Al Jazeera said on Wednesday that an explosion took place at a number of places in Cairo, which was denied as a rumor.

Security sources have affirmed that the security status in Cairo is absolutely stable and denied all rumors about explosions in Cairo.

The sources further stressed demands for media outlets to double-check their information and sources before spreading false news.

Al Jazeera, a Qatari state-funded broadcaster, has long been criticized by Arab countries for publishing fake news that only serves a devious scheme to bring political Islamist groups and terrorists to power.

“The situation in Egypt is stable, but some unprofessional media outlets such as Al Jazeera are propagating untrue images,” Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry added late Saturday in remarks to private television station MBC Masr.

“This is driven by deep grudge over accomplishments that Egypt has achieved. Hostile media begrudge these achievements,” he added from New York where he is attending with Al Sissi the annual UN General Assembly meetings.
