Sisi extends state of emergency in Egypt for 3 months

CAIRO - 25 April 2019: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a decree on Thursday to extend a state of emergency in Egypt for three more months starting from 1:00 a.m. this morning.

Under the decree, the military and police should take necessary measures to counter terrorism, maintain security in the country and protect public and private property, as well as civilian lives.

The decree was published in the official gazette.
