United Nations - U.S. 7 June 2017: France on Tuesday presented a draft resolution to the UN Security Council that would authorize the deployment of an African military force for the Sahel region.

The proposed measure would allow the Sahel force to "use all necessary means" to "combat terrorism, drug trafficking and trafficking in persons," according to the draft text obtained by AFP.
