CAIRO - 10 September 2018: Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar probed with a number of presidents of Japanese universities and their deputies means of enhancing cooperation with the Egyptian universities in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

The Japanese academic institutions included University of Tsukuba, Tokyo University of Science and University of Fukui.

Abdel Ghaffar, who is currently visiting Japan, reviewed Egypt's vision in developing higher education within the framework of his participation in the Science and Technology in Society (STS) international forum held in Kyoto, said a statement issued by the Higher Education Ministry.

During the meeting held at the premises of the Egyptian embassy in Japan, the minister gave a lecture on Egypt's future vision in the field of education as he reviewed his ministry's strategy to hone the skills of the graduates in order to meet the needs of the labor market besides developing the Egyptian universities, the statement read.

The lecture took up also legislative measures taken by Egypt recently within the framework of facilitating the establishment of branches for the foreign universities in the country, it added.

The minister further hailed bilateral cooperation as part of the Egyptian-Japanese initiative to develop education, the statement noted
