CAIRO - 30 May 2018: Egypt condemned Tuesday's Liège shooting which left two female police officers and a civilian dead.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry condoled with the families of the victims and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

The statement underlined Egypt's rejection of all kinds of terrorism, urging the international community to rally efforts to strictly confront this phenomenon.

On Tuesday, a man shot dead two female police officers and a civilian in the eastern Belgian city of Liège.

The gunman also took a female cleaner hostage at a school before being killed by the police. Four other police officers were also injured.

The man's motive is not yet clear but the incident is being treated as terrorism.
