CAIRO – 14 May 2018: Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar is set to launch the National Institute for Special Forces on Monday in the presence of several high-ranking officials and generals in the army.

The institute is specialized for training special forces units and developing their combat skills. It is built over an area of 78 acres. It is considered one of the largest institutes of its kind in the Middle East region.

The institute develops the trainees’ skills in different sectors of security through special programs designed specifically for that purpose.

Mohammed Safwat, training supervisor at the institute, mentioned that there is accommodation for the trainees, an administrative area and a place designed for training activities.

Safwat said that the institute can take up to 1,450 trainees at one time, where they practice different scenarios and cases.

Safwat added that an artificial lake is being created at the institute designed specifically for water activities and training programs that require a marine set-up.

There is a central unit available at the institute to control all parts of the entity and to relay messages across the different sections.
