CAIRO – 18 April 2017: Egypt’s heaviest woman Iman Ahmed Abdel-Ati 36, will use an experimental medication to be able to walk, which so far only three people have used it in the world, said Indian Dr. Movasal Akdwyla who is the supervisor of her case.

Abdel-Ati was considered the fattest woman in the world two months ago before being able to receive treatment from Indian doctors who helped her lose half of her weight to become 242 kg.

On 11th of February this year Abdel-Ati, who weighed around 500 kg, was flown to India to treat her life-threatening case of obesity which has attracted public attention and empathy worldwide; was transported in a custom made aircraft by Egypt Air.

In October 2016, Abdel-Ati asked for help from Egypt's President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, asking him to save her life.
