The blast at St. George’s Church (Mar Girgis) in Tanta, north of Egypt, Sunday morning, left at least 40 dead and over 70 injured, as it targeted a mass service in celebration of Palm Sunday.

Another attack four hours later targeted Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria, resulting in 16 fatalities and at least 40 injuries.

The attacks drew widespread international condemnations, including American President Donald Trump, France's Francois Holland, along with a number of international and regional political leaders. Apple's CEO tweeted in Arabic below, offering condolences to Egyptian people from his official account @tim_cook.
