CAIRO – 16 December 2017: Sharqia Governor Khaled Saied said in a press statement on Saturday that they will continue in December to provide training sessions for Syrian women in Egypt to create handicrafts. The sessions are organized in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Central Administration for Youth Training.

The statement also said that the aim of such activities is to integrate Syrian women into the Egyptian community, exchange culture and skills, and encourage the mastery of handicrafts, which will prepare the trainees for the labor market.

Wael el-Alfi, director of the Youth and Sports Directorate, said that the training sessions, which take place at the sports centers of Al-Zohor, Al-Yasmin and 10th of Ramdan, include many areas, such as basic skills for handicrafts, glass painting, knitting, accessories and other general information about reproductive health.

He added that these training sessions show Egypt’s support for all refugees and its help for them to integrate in different activities and solve any problems they may face.
