Azhar Grand Imam receives Japanese ambassador

CAIRO – 15 November 2017: Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb on Wednesday said that Azhar institution is seeking to benefit from the Japanese know-how in the domain of education.

At a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Takehiro Kagawa, the Grand Imam expressed hope that Azhar University would have a section for the Japanese language.

He noted that Azhar is concerned with establishing peace and spreading the culture of dialogue along with confronting the extremist thought.

For his part, the Japanese ambassador said his country is working to cement cultural and educational relations with Azhar.

He lauded the role undertaken by Azhar in confronting extremist thought.
