CAIRO – 5 November 2017: World Youth Forum (WYF) guests from across the world continue to flock to Sharm El-Sheikh to attend the opening ceremony of the forum Sunday evening.

Youth from 113 different nationalities will participate in the forum, besides a number of international delegations of media professionals and journalists and officials. The delegation included TV presenters Khairi Ramadan and Moufid Fawzi, Mohamed El Baz, and Youm7’s executive editor Dandrawy Al-Hawary.

Both Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be heading to Sharm El-Sheikh on Sunday to attend the WYF.

Hundreds of young people from all over the world flocked to Sharm El-Sheikh, where the WYF is convened under the theme “We Need to Talk.”

Security measures have been tightened ahead of the World Youth Forum (WYF) with high-tech surveillance cameras, connected to the main operational room affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, along the streets circumventing the premises where WYF is being held. Cameras have also been placed where the guests are scheduled to lodge.

Large police vehicles will be on patrol throughout the event and equipped with CCTV systems and automatic license plate recognition (ANPR) cameras around hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh and a detention facility which can accommodate up to nine people.

Held under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the WYF is running from November 4 to 10.

The forum is a chance for people to engage with top policy-makers in the region and network with promising youth in the region and the world that are determined to create change in the world we live in today.
